The Acquario di Livorno is located directly on the picturesque Terrazza Mascagni, just a few minutes' walk from the city center and is easily accessible on foot and by public transport.

From the central point Piazza Grande, where the shuttle buses from the port also arrive, you can reach the aquarium on foot in around 15 to 20 minutes. The route leads along Via Grande and further along Viale Italia, directly to Terrazza Mascagni. Along the way, you will pass sights such as San Francesco Cathedral and the Venezia Nuova district.

Visitors can reach the Aquario di Livorno from the north via the A12 and from the east via the A11.

The aquarium has a parking garage with 120 parking spaces. There are also other parking garages nearby, including the Parco del Mulino, which is just a few minutes' walk from the entrance. The parking garages are usually open throughout the day so that the aquarium can be easily reached at any time of day.

The local transport company Autolinee Toscane operates the bus lines in Livorno. Particularly relevant for visitors to the aquarium is bus line 1+ (formerly LAM Blu), which runs from Livorno Centrale station and from the city center (bus stop "Grande 4" near H&M on Via Grande) directly to the coast.

Livorno Centrale train station is an important transportation hub. From here, you can either take the bus (line 1+) or a cab to the aquarium. If you are a good walker, you can also cover the 2.5 km route on foot in around 30 minutes.
